Ridgewood Memorial Park, Des Plaines
About Ridgewood Memorial Park, Des Plaines
Ridgewood Memorial Park in Des Plaines, Illinois, has provided cemetery services for Chicago-area families since 1920. The 168-acre memorial park is a sanctuary for remembrance and contemplation that offers a quiet, natural respite from the busy city. Beautifully landscaped with an abundance of stately mature maple, oak, and blue spruce trees, our spectacular grounds feature 2 lakes that add to the serene setting.
Ridgewood Memorial Park has several areas for memorial and committal services. Within the Swan Lake Mausoleum, the Swan Lake Chapel overlooks Swan Lake. The modern, light-filled chapel holds 150-200 guests and has a catering kitchen. Unlike many chapels, Swan Lake is in the shape of a circle and has many windows that let in plenty of natural light.
Des Plaines has a rich and vibrant Greek community. Our ornate Greek Chapel celebrates those of the Greek Orthodox faith. It has icon murals on every wall that depict Christian themes such as the resurrection and crucifixion of Christ, and a magnificent carved wooden altar sits at the front of the chapel.
